HDMA RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO WORK IN VIRGINIA FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
ARLINGTON, Va., January 9, 2012 – The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) is one of the 2012 Best Places to Work in Virginia, for the second consecutive year, according to Virginia Business magazine.
The survey and award program is designed to recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state's economy, its work force and businesses. The Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of a total of 70 companies, split into three groups: small employers (fewer than 100 employees), mid-sized employers (100-250 employees) and large-sized employers (more than 250 employees). HDMA is one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia in the small employer category.
“It is an honor to be recognized for this award, particularly for a second year,” said HDMA President and CEO John M. Gray. “HDMA has assembled an excellent staff to serve our members and the distribution industry, and we are proud of our public contributions. We strive to maintain a rewarding work environment for our dedicated staff, and we are particularly pleased that employee responses contributed to this distinction.”
Mr. Gray also was recently recognized as one of the top association executives by CEO Update, the leading publication covering the association sector.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in the state of Virginia;
- Have at least 15 employees working in Virginia; and,
- Must be in business a minimum of one year.
Organizations from across the state completed the two-part survey process used to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking.
The ranking of the second annual Best Places to Work in Virginia will be published in the February 2012 issue of Virginia Business.
